The EOV partners have looked into opportunities for Norway towards offshore wind and hydrogen production offshore.
EOV partners Western Norway University of Applied sciences (HVL) and Bergen Offshore Wind Centre at University of Bergen have together with Greenstat and Æge Energy/Åbø PowerConsulting, looked into opportunities for Norway towards offshore wind and hydrogen production offshore.
The study takes a closer look at how offshore hydrogen production can be realized either as an isolated system, or in combination with cable to land, and at what cost.
With a coordinated approach to the infrastructure around offshore wind in the Southern part of the North Sea (License area II), the report states that Norway can develop both offshore wind industry, hydrogen industry and maritime businesses. In addition, one can probably produce hydrogen from offshore wind, at competitive prices, and thus create new green jobs at sea.
The authors hope that the study can contribute to the various opportunities in the Southern North Sea being made visible, and thus facilitate the creation of new, green jobs at sea for Norway.
The report; Optimal utnyttelse av energi fra havvind - Offshore H2-produksjon og kabel til land is now published and you can read more here
